About Annette

I’m an inventive designer who loves to research the market
so that my design solutions make your brand jump out in this visually-saturated world. Unlike designers whose layouts are based on their favorite trendy font, my designs are backed up by competitive research before ever putting pen to paper
(on the back of a bar napkin).

Specialties:

• Logo Design

• Packaging Design

• Product Development

• Architectural Design

I started my career in Los Angeles as a graphic designer, freelancing for many of the top ad agencies, including Ogilvy & Mather, JWT and BBDO.

It was even more fun creating movie posters and title designs for films, including Thelma & Louise, Steel Magnolias and A Few Good Men. My Hollywood work was entered and shown at the Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards.

In search of a greener, cleaner city, I moved to Portland, Oregon in 1993, where I designed print collateral and signage for Nike and Columbia Sportswear, including a 24-foot mural for NikeTown NY.

In 2000, I was invited to partner with East Bank Communications, Inc. as Creative Director. During my two-year tenure, the agency’s annual billings nearly doubled, reaching over $1.2 million. Our clients included KinderCare, with over 1,200 childcare centers nationwide; and NW Hardwoods.

In 2002, I left East Bank to create Orban Ranch, where great ideas roam free. Being a foodie in a town full of food entrepreneurs, I sharpened my focus on Packaging Design for gourmet food & wine. I continue to work for a range of clients all over the map, while currently based in Phoenix, Arizona.

As Creative Director, I love to design branding and packaging that will help my clients convey the quality of their brand.

I also hire copywriters, web programmers and photographers to deliver marketing materials that reflect the caliber of my clients’ products. My clients have included: Portland State University, Oregon Wine Club, Columbia River Bank, Zooper Strollers, Briar Rose Creamery, M Financial, Nike and Columbia Sportswear.

I’ve also been a guest lecturer at Portland Community College, where I teach Food Entrepreneurs the process of developing a brand; how to identify their target audience; and key elements of package design for their product category.
